You may have noticed a change in your animal that you can’t quite explain.
Perhaps your dog seems more anxious. Your cat has become withdrawn. Your horse feels unsettled. Or you simply sense that your animal is trying to tell you something.
That uncertainty can feel difficult. You know your animal well, and your observations matter.
Animal communication offers another way to listen and understand.
What is animal communication?
Animal communication is an intuitive practice focused on connecting with an animal’s experience, emotions, impressions, and perspective.
An animal communicator, sometimes called a pet communicator, may receive information as:
Emotions or feelings
Mental images
Physical sensations
Words or phrases
Impressions about the animal’s environment
Observations about relationships, transitions, or current concerns
This is different from interpreting ordinary animal behavior, although both can be valuable.
In everyday life, animals communicate through body language, vocalizations, posture, movement, scent, and changes in behavior. A tucked tail may suggest fear. A turned head may signal discomfort. A change in appetite or sleep may tell you that something is different.
Intuitive animal communication explores the situation from another perspective: what might your animal be experiencing, feeling, or trying to express?
It isn’t about forcing an animal to behave differently. It’s about listening with care and curiosity.
> Understand more deeply. Support more completely.
How does animal communication work?
Every practitioner may have a slightly different process. At Heartwise Animal Wellness, animal communication begins before the scheduled session.
With basic information about your animal, your primary concern, and a recent photograph, I connect intuitively with your animal remotely. Information may come through as emotions, images, sensations, words, or other intuitive experiences.
The intention is to explore what may be relevant to your animal’s current experience.
During your live consultation, we’ll discuss what came through and consider it alongside what you have been observing. We may talk about:
Recent changes in behavior
Anxiety, fear, or nervousness
New homes or family changes
Relationships with people or other animals
Grief, loss, or past experiences
Environmental stress
Ongoing health or wellness concerns
Depending on the type of session, we may then move into Emotion Code® or Body Code® energy work.
Afterward, you’ll receive detailed follow-up notes containing the insights, observations, messages, and recommendations that emerged during the session.
The process is gentle, personal, and collaborative.
Is remote animal communication possible?
Yes. Heartwise sessions are 100% remote, so your animal doesn’t need to travel or be taken out of their familiar surroundings.
Your animal may be in the room with you during the consultation, but they don’t have to be. They can continue with their normal routine at home while we talk.
For some animals, this familiar setting may feel more comfortable than a new location. There’s no carrier, car ride, waiting room, or unfamiliar environment to navigate.
Remote sessions are available for animals of all species, including:
Dogs and cats
Horses
Birds
Farm animals
Small animals
Other animal companions
Every animal is an individual. The process begins by making space for their unique experience.
How to talk to animals in everyday life
You don’t need to be an animal communicator to become more attentive to the ways your animal communicates.
You can begin gently.
1. Slow down and observe
Notice your animal’s patterns without immediately judging them.
How do they respond to new people, sounds, places, or routines? When do they seem relaxed? What happens just before a behavior changes?
Small details can provide meaningful context.
2. Listen to the whole animal
Behavior is one form of communication, but it is not the whole story.
Your animal’s posture, facial expression, movement, appetite, sleep, energy, and relationships may all offer information. Looking at these details together can help you understand the situation more completely.
3. Ask open, calm questions
You might quietly ask, “What are you trying to tell me?” or “What would help you feel more comfortable?”
You may not receive a clear verbal answer. Instead, you may notice a feeling, image, memory, or new understanding about your animal’s needs.
4. Make room for professional support
Listening to your animal also means taking physical and behavioral changes seriously.
If your animal has a sudden change in behavior, signs of pain, new symptoms, appetite changes, mobility concerns, or an emergency, contact your veterinarian promptly. A qualified trainer or behavior professional may also be an important part of your animal’s care.
Gentle listening and professional care can work together.
Animal communication and holistic pet care
Holistic pet care considers more than one part of an animal’s life. It may include physical health, emotional wellbeing, environment, relationships, routine, and energetic support.
Animal communication can be one complementary layer within that broader approach.
It may help you reflect on questions such as:
What could be contributing to this change?
How might my animal be experiencing the transition?
Is there something in the environment that needs attention?
What kind of support may help my animal feel safer?
What would be useful to discuss with my veterinarian or behavior professional?
This is also where animal energy healing may be included. At Heartwise, energy wellness work is intended to support emotional and energetic balance. It is not presented as a replacement for veterinary medicine, diagnosis, medication, treatment, emergency care, or qualified behavioral support.
Two ways Heartwise can support your animal
Heartwise offers two primary session options, depending on what you’re noticing.
Animal Emotional Balance
Animal Emotional Balance is designed for behavioral and emotional concerns.
It combines intuitive animal communication with Emotion Code® energy work to explore emotions, experiences, and energetic patterns that may be connected to what you’re observing.
This may be a natural starting point if your animal is experiencing:
Anxiety or nervousness
Fear or sensitivity
Reactivity
Separation concerns
Grief or loss
Adjustment after adoption
A new home or family change
An unexplained change in behavior
The intention is not to control or force behavior. It is to gain another perspective and support your animal more thoughtfully.
Whole-Animal Wellness
Whole-Animal Wellness takes a broader approach to health and overall well-being.
It combines intuitive animal communication with Body Code® energy wellness work. The session may be appropriate when your animal is navigating an ongoing wellness concern, recovering from a stressful experience, or simply not seeming like themselves.
Whole-Animal Wellness is designed to work alongside standard veterinary care. If intuitive information appears related to physical well-being, it should be treated as something to observe and discuss with your veterinarian, not as a diagnosis.
What animal communication can, and cannot, do
Animal communication may offer:
A different way to reflect on your animal’s experience
Insight into emotional or behavioral concerns
Support during transitions and changes
A deeper sense of connection
Questions to explore with your care team
A compassionate space to listen
It cannot guarantee a particular outcome. It cannot diagnose a medical condition. It cannot replace veterinary care, professional training, behavior support, medication, or emergency services.
That distinction is part of responsible care.
If your animal is experiencing significant pain, sudden physical symptoms, severe distress, or a possible emergency, contact your veterinarian or an emergency veterinary facility immediately.
A gentle place to begin
You may already understand more than you realize.
You notice the pause before your dog enters a room. The way your cat watches the window. The change in your horse’s expression. The quiet difference in your animal’s energy.
Animal communication offers a way to slow down, listen, and explore those observations with greater intention.
At Heartwise Animal Wellness, each remote session is designed to meet your animal as an individual, with compassion, curiosity, and respect for the professional care they may also need.
Listen gently. Explore thoughtfully. Support completely.
